Jundorf

 

Brno-Jundrov is an urban district in the west of the Statutory City of Brno. It consists of most of the cadastral area of the Jundrov quarter and a small northwestern part of the Pisárky cadastral area.

The total cadastral area is 4.22 km². The self-governing municipal district was established on 24 November 1990. It has approximately 4100 inhabitants. It is situated on the right bank of the Svratka River. The surface of the district, which is one of the most peaceful parts of Brno, rises gently from the surface of the Svratka River in the east and north to the more westerly wooded hills above the Jundrovo housing estate, which dominate the district. Most of the streets are named after trees and bushes (Dubová, Březová, Jasanová, Sosnová, Šeříková, etc.), a minority after Moravian personalities - Optátova (Václav Beneš Optát), Pivoňkova (Alois Pivoňka), Slovak - Nálepkova (Captain Ján Nálepka) or Czech - Gellnerova (František Gellner), Tyršovo návrší (Miroslav Tyrš).
